Swoją tytaniczną pracą i dzięki silnej osobowości profesor Fisiak przygotował podwaliny do przekształcenia Instytutu Filologii Angielskiej w Wydział Anglistyki. Zawsze będę dumna, że mogłam przejąć i rozwijać to wielkie dzieło. Jestem wdzięczna Profesorowi za odegranie roli przewodnika w mojej pracy akademickiej, począwszy od studiów magisterskich, poprzez zdobywanie stopni i tytułu profesorskiego, pełnienie roli wicedyrektora przez trzy kadencje, aż po przejęcie dowodzenia Instytutem i wreszcie utworzenie Wydziału Anglistyki UAM. My, pracownicy i wychowankowie profesora, zachowamy Go we wdzięcznej pamięci. reflected by numerous decorations he was awarded. He was a holder of the Grand Cross of the Order “Polonia Restituta”; Order of the British Empire, Officer’s Class (O.B.E.); Commander’s Cross of the Order “Lion of Finland”; Knight’s Cross of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit; Officer’s Cross of the Order “Palmes Académiques”; and Medal of the Committee of National Education. His titanic work and strong personality lent the foundation to transform the School of English into the Faculty of English. I will forever be proud to have taken over and continue this great work. I am indebted to the Professor for guiding me in on my academic path, starting with MA studies, through subsequent degrees and my professorial title, my position as vice-director for three terms, my taking helm of the flagship over and finally creating the Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań. His colleagues and alumni, all of us alike, will keep our Professor in grateful memory.
