Bob Hamer, FBI Agent, ret.
He has written for the TV series “Sue Thomas: FBI and The Inside.” He worked as the technical adviser for “The Inside” and “Angela’s Eyes” and has consulted for “Law & Order: SVU” and “Sleeper Cell”. He also appeared as a guest on Oprah to discuss his role in the NAMBLA investigation.
Now retired from the FBI, he spent 26 years as a “street agent.” He has worked organized crime, gangs, terrorism, and child exploitation. Although he prides himself on a career of successful undercover assignments, he served as case agent or co-case agent on some of the most significant matters investigated by the Los Angeles office of the FBI… the LA Mafia Family case, the Eddie Nash case (of Laurel Canyon Murders, John Holmes, Boogie Nights, Wonderland fame), and the July 4th shooting at the EL AL ticket counter at LAX. In undercover assignments lasting anywhere from several days to more than three years, Bob successfully posed as a drug dealer, contract killer, residential burglar, fence, pedophile, degenerate gambler, weapons dealer, and white-collar criminal. He worked undercover against such diverse groups as La Cosa Nostra, Sicilian Mafia, Mexican Mafia, Russian Mafia, Asian organized crime groups, and Los Angeles-based street gangs. His successful infiltration of NAMBLA (North American Man/Boy Love Association) resulted in the arrest of what one defendant called eight members of the “inner circle.” Throughout his career, Bob has received numerous awards, including the coveted FBI Director’s Award for Distinguished Service, five United States Attorney Awards for Distinguished Service, and numerous letters of commendation, including one from then US Attorney Rudy Giuliani.
Since the publication of The Last Undercover (1st ed.), Bob has written two novels, Enemies Among Us and Targets Down, and three novellas, “Detour to Justice,” “Expendable for the Cause,” and “Blood in the Desert.” He has also co-authored two books with New York Times best-selling author Oliver North, i.e. American Heroes on the Homefront and Counterfeit Lies. A Marine Corps veteran and law school graduate, Bob is married and has two children.

A Look Inside
Theses offenders began their quest in full view of an unsuspecting public. They were our sons’ teachers, doctors, therapists, neighbors, friends and relatives. Their responsible behavior in public causes us to drop our guard. We somehow believe we are smart enough to recognize the pervert lurking in the shadows and, as a result of that confidence, fail to see the predator in our midst.
